Ramones

New York punk band -- Joey, Johnny, Dee Dee, and Tommy Ramone -- whose stripped-down, two-minute songs helped invent punk rock's template. Their debut single, "Blitzkrieg Bop," written mainly by drummer Tommy Ramone with a title assist from Dee Dee Ramone, opened their self-titled 1976 debut album and its "Hey Ho, Let's Go" chant became one of rock's most recognizable openings, despite not charting on first release.
