Bob Dylan

Minnesota-born singer-songwriter whose mid-1960s turn from acoustic folk to electric folk-rock reshaped popular songwriting. "Like a Rolling Stone," recorded in June 1965 and released that July, became the defining single of that turn, built in part around an organ part played by a musician who had talked his way into the session without ever having played the instrument before.
