American singer-songwriter Oliver Tree Nickell (June 29, 1993 - June 14, 2026), a genre-crossing artist working between alternative rock, indie pop, hip-hop, and dance music and known for a signature bowl cut, an eccentric public persona, and a comedy-and-filmmaking approach to his releases. His breakout came with the 2020 debut album Ugly Is Beautiful. He died on June 14, 2026, at age 32, when two helicopters collided over Rio de Janeiro during a world tour; his 2021 single "Life Goes On" re-entered Spotify's global chart the day after and later became the soundtrack to the September 2026 "Remember November 2026" polar bear meme.
